Sophomore year of highschool Tom was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called Crohn’s Disease, forcing him to quit all sports and drop out of school.
Tom was a legacy operator since the age of 15, and at age 21, a close friend of his did multiple controlled buys off of Tom, leading him to being the last legal bust by Wesnet before they got shut down for impractical busts in Washington state. He had his whole operation taken from him, along with 6 months house arrest and heavy fines.
It started as an opportunity to finally make taxable income. Eventually hooking up with Coolio, Treach, & Rappin 4 Tay, Tom quickly used his business mind to turn into a manager and promoter for the west coast hip hop scene in the 2010s. Tom learned the power of personal branding and the connection between music and cannabis.
Tom and Nater were childhood teammates after a decade of playing football, baseball and basketball together. During Tom’s legacy operating and music days, Nater found success as an entrepreneur after working at Amazon.com. They hooked back up together when cannabis went legal in their home state of Washington; Nater gave Tom his life savings and said “go make the winning shot”, and they launched Hitz Cannabis.
